Dancing With The Stars: 3 Stars, 1 Mirror Ball Left

It’s Tuesday. And on this night, Dancing With The Stars struts to a glorious and drama-filled end. You’ve endured less-than-great dancers, older American heroes waltzing around the stage with remarkable pluck & attitude, scene-stealing gossip magnets, hot athletes, saucy vixens and daytime drama dreamboats – and then there were just three really good dancers left. But much like the Lost finale, you have to deal with some true characters and even less appealing situations before you get to the end with good old-fashioned closure. It’s the same with DWTS. The only difference is that these stars get to bathe and shave frequently, with far more costume changes. By the way, guess who else showed up at a finale? Bret Michaels – who’s had a pretty bumpy road healthwise – managed to show up at the Celebrity Apprentice finale – which he then won. So there’s a little good news for a guy who can certainly use some. Congrats, Bret. Now let’s get back to the dancing. Will it be Erin, Evan or Nicole? Kate Gosselin’s back – this, one would assume, is just part of her newly alleged $500,000 paycheck for DWTS. Last night there were more perfect scores and today, people are saying that it’s not as slam-dunk as they’d originally thought. Do you agree? Is it still Nicole’s to lose? DWTS: 4 Left. Who’s Going…Going…Gone?

Well it’s Tuesday, which means of course we’re devoted largely to Dancing With The Stars (there’s that elimination round tonight). But first, let’s address the good news surrounding one of PCA’s favorite sitcom players, Charlie Sheen. See, it was reported that he’d decided to call it quits on his show – much to the consternation of 2 1/2 Men lovers everywhere. However, it seems the powers that be have managed to er, convince Charlie to stay on board – for another two years. Nobody’s using exact numbers, but let’s just say they’re probably pretty round ones. All we know is, one day he was saying “no”. Then allegedly he wanted somewhere in the neighborhood of $2 million bucks a show (that doesn’t sound like such a bad place to live). The upshot? CBS has agreed to make it worth his while.

And now on to DWTS. Because it’ll probably be a doozy. Tonight we get Miley Cyrus singing “Can’t Be Tamed” – but according to reports, she can be, as the top brass has asked her to keep things clean this evening. Obviously the pressure’s on now because there are only four couples left, and last night judges awarded a few perfect scores. Did Chad score points by showing off That Which a Gym & a Professional Football Career Provides? Possibly. Does Nicole Scherzinger still have the popular vote? Will Evan stay another week at least to find out if she can be beat? (Quite probably) Which DWTS star is going home tonight? Idol: Just Four Left. Who’s Out Tonight?

Hello Wednesday! Goodbye, Niecy…sadly, the perennially upbeat & funny actress was sent packing last night on Dancing With The Stars, as many expected, removing yet another one of the show’s more sparkly assets. Now, with just four stars left, it seems like the competition is getting tougher and maybe a little less, em, fun. There’s a mirror ball at stake, people, and these hoofers want it bad. Speaking of high stakes, there are plenty of them cooking (I know, stakes don’t really cook, but stay with me here) on American Idol. It’s Hollywood week and thus the crooners each take a crack at movie tunes (some of the songs we knew and even OD’d on when they first came out, others we’d never heard in the first place). Thus it seems a pretty daunting task, on account of the associations we already have with the various films (how often does Kenny Loggins’ “I’m Alright” not bring some pretty specific Caddyshack imagery to mind?) Last night should have been a crowd-pleaser, with Jamie Foxx in the Mentor Seat. Was it? Well, let’s just say that not everyone was bowled over by the solo numbers – although everyone seemed to fare better with the duets. Like a lot better. And now it’s back to that clock-ticking thing tonight, where one of the big four becomes an Also Ran. DWTS: Which star is going home tonight?

Happy Tuesday! Which means of course that another “DWTS” elimination round looms before us. Will tonight be the night when a certain someone is encouraged to abandon her hopes for a mirror ball and return to her (admittedly, very cute) children and ANOTHER reality show? We’ll see.

But first, gotta tell you about an astonishing event I attended last night with Fred (PCA Prez) in New York City. It was an evening organized by a group called Our Time, a really groundbreaking group dedicated to helping children who stutter. Our Time’s been around nearly ten years, and they have this incredible summer camp where kids lives are transformed – giving them confidence and poise so they don’t feel awkward about speaking in public. The evening honored Carly Simon, who herself suffered from a stutter as a child, and who managed to overcome it and become one of the greatest singer/songwriters of our time. The whole evening was just astonishing, and if you stutter, or you have or know a child who does, you might want to check out this amazing organization www.ourtimetheatre.org.

In TV news, “Glee” is on tonight – and it’s the one we’ve all been waiting for – the all-Madonna episode. So you might wanna tune in there. Now, of course, it will become a Tivo/DVR or whatever you like to use situation because in its brand new time slot “Glee” goes up against “Dancing With The Stars.” How’s that for competition? So last night on “DWTS” they tried out a “movie theme” – let us know if you think that worked or not, and tonight, someone else is going to head home, mirror ball-free. And remember that the more everyone wants Kate Gosselin to get the boot, the more she may stick around because the people behind these shows LOVE nothing more than to get us all riled up. DWTS: Which Star Gets The Boot Tonight?

It’s Tuesday…are you ready for tonight’s “Dancing With The Stars” elimination round? We’ll get to that in a minute but for now, let’s talk about other TV. Fox has officially said buh-bye to two more shows: “Sons of Tucson” and “Til Death “ (one was brand new, the other on its way out). In additional network cancellations, we already knew about “The Hills”, but another show that’s a goner is especially sad given its pedigree: “At The Movies”. That’s the one that was originally Siskel & Ebert, then it became Ebert & Roeper, and then they had a series of less-than-well-received guys in the chairs until the whole thing has now burned out, sadly, after 30 years on the air. New shows that are coming back? NBC’s “The Marriage Ref” (that’s the Jerry Seinfeld one) plus the game show “Minute to Win It” and “Who Do You Think You Are”. So now we move on to music. Because it’s April, it’s never too early to think about summer, and with summer comes those huge arena shows we all love (or did, when we were in the appropriate age range to beg our parents to let us go unchaperoned). Anyway, it’s summer music time and Rihanna’s got a doozy of a tour coming up, all across the US, and this one’s called “Last Girl On Earth” and will feature Ke$ha and raptress Nicki Minaj. When and where will this wildly anticipated tour kick off? Well, let’s just say if you happen to be in Seattle on the 2^nd of July, turns out, they will too. Now, for the moment you’ve all been waiting for. DWTS!! Tonight, we have another elimination round, and last week we watched as Shannen Doherty was summarily removed from the competition, admitting that “dancing just wasn’t her thing”. Now, the plot thickens, big time. Will Buzz Aldrin get the axe to the chagrin of millions of baby boomers who thought it odd (and maybe a little demeaning) that he was on the show in the first place? Will Kate Gosselin finally get what so many viewers (and probably her partner) think she deserves? Will Pam Anderson (who did quite nicely yesterday) stick it out and become truly competitive here? And can anyone touch Evan, Nicole and now Erin in the leader pack? (While Aiden, Chad, Niecy and Jake hover somewhere in the midrange with 20’s and 21’s yesterday). It’s anyone’s guess. Dancing With The Stars Stars Are Here!

Great feedback yesterday from our Movies With The Best Twisty Ending poll. Upshot of the whole deal is that Primal Fear has indeed got a fabulous killer ending, but that not everyone got to see it and most thought Sixth Sense was purdy chilling. Okay. Did anyone watch “The Bachelor”? Who’s apparently also a hoofer now? (more on that later) So he picked Vienna. End of story. Almost makes you miss the messy drama with Jason Mesnick, doesn’t it? Next topic. Have you been watching “The Today show” this week? They’re actually profiling the great family shows. As in, the ones with the great, seemingly unforgettable families, not necessarily for the family. And this week they’re even bringing in the live actors from the casts to demonstrate the wildly popular phenomenon! For example, yesterday they had the cast of “Eight Is Enough”, today they welcome “The Partridge Family”, and day after tomorrow the cast of “227″ will be guests.”The Brady Bunch” canceled however, which is a complete bummer of course. And not a little suspicious. Now, for the “Dancing With The Stars” stars. Okay, not a lot of huge surprises – let’s begin with the least surprising: Kate Gosselin (who says she can rehearse at home because people are already peeved about her bailing on the kids), Pam it-was-just-a-matter-of-time Anderson, pouty but popular actress Shannen Doherty, Olympic gold medalist Evan Lysacek, Pussycat Dolls star (and People’s Choice Award hottie ) Nicole Scherzinger, “The Bachelor”’s um, bachelor, Jake Pavelka, 80-year-old astronaut Buzz Aldrin, ESPN’s Erin Andrews, soap star Aiden Turner, NFL star Chad Ochocinco, and actress-comedian Niecy Nash. There are your landmark Tenth Season stars. The show’s producers are of course over the moon and admit that they’ve been chasing some of these stars since season 1 (do you think we’ll ever find out who they’re talking about? I don’t). So that’s your DWTS lineup…now get ready for the show on March 22^nd. And of course, it wouldn’t be a DWTS Stars Reveal Day without a Dancing With The Stars stars’ poll, would it? DWTS: Who’s Going Home Tonite?

So tonight it’s all about Dancing With The Stars …we had the 11 remaining couples this week (you’ll recall controversial politico Tom DeLay is gone due to injury, and actress Debi Mazar was sent packing last week).But before we get to tonight’s poll, two things bear mentioning: First a hearty congratulations to supermodel/hostess Heidi Klum and her hubby Seal, who welcomed a baby daughter they’re calling Lou Samuel. The tiny Seal pup joins three siblings. And secondly, Michael Jackson’s posthumous single “This Is It” has been released. The new tune however, isn’t exactly. Turns out, the original version of the track was in fact penned by MJ and Paul Anka back in 1983, and they sang it as a duet, entitled “I Never Heard”.

But back to the Dancing.

4 new dances: the two-step, the bolero, the Charleston, and the lambada (and remember, 3 of them are not “forbidden”).

So last night Melissa Joan Hart, Mya and Joanna Krupa finished first, second and third respectively with people’s fave Donny Osmond sharing fourth place…but tonight we have the elimination round. Oh! DWTS: Who Gets The Boot Tonite?

Wow…lots of feedback from yesterday’s “most overrrated celeb poll” – didn’t know you guys cared so much! Great to hear your opinions. You seem to find those Gosselins about as irritating as I do. Now, let’s move to yet another reality TV phenomenon, ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Monday’s show brought back the 13 remaining celebs and put them through their paces with the samba and the rumba. Neither is particularly easy, and now that they’ve said buh-bye to Kathy Ireland, it’s going to be another close one tonight for who gets the boot next. For one thing, the judges did hand out a few perfect tens AND there were injuries blamed for some of the less-than-stellar work Monday. So now what’ll happen on tonight’s show? Well, it’ll certainly be exciting — made even more so by a special DWTS appearance from none other than the People’s Choice’s own Queen Latifah.

So now…are you still thinking (as many our voters have) that either Donny, or Kelly or Mya might have what it takes to go all the way here? Will you tune in? Time for a Reality TV Check. So Jon and Kate is now Kate Plus Eight plus Adam Lambert may be a bigger sell (if record presales are any indication) than the Beatles.But let’s talk about some really groundbreaking stuff. Dancing With The Stars. It arrived of course with a three-day premiere extravaganza, and included otherworldly contestants like Kelly Osborne and Tom Delay. We asked you all if you had thoughts on who might walk away (or dance away) with the title and many of you said it was too early to tell.
