And the revivals just keep on coming: ABC is officially bringing back Roseanne.

The news was made official by ABC president Channing Dungey during a conference call with reporters on Tuesday (May 16), according to E! News

“We’re rebooting Roseanne,” Dungey said during the call, while also adding that the reboot of the comedy is still in the early stages of development.

Originally premiering on ABC in 1988, Roseanne followed the daily on-goings of the working-class Connor family — made up of stars Roseanne Barr (Roseanne), John Goodman (Dan), Sarah Gilbert (Darlene), and Johnny Galecki.

Per a press release by the network, the eight-episode reboot will find the Connors continuing to deal with “the economic challenges of living pay check to pay check in 2018.”

While Goodman’s character was killed off during the series’ original run, he’s set to return for the reboot, along with Barr, Gilbert,  Laurie Metcalf (Jackie), Lecy Goranson (Becky) and Michael Fishman (D.J.). Sarah Chalke, who took over the character of Becky in 1993, will also be a part of the cast — however, in a different role. ABC has not confirmed whether Galecki, who is currently stars on CBS’ The Big Bang Theory, will appear on the reboot.

ABC’s Roseanne revival is expected to air in 2018.
