The official trailer for Dunkirk is finally here — and it’s very intense.
Warner Bros. debuted the latest trailer for the film on Friday (May 5), and it offers a good look at Harry Styles in his debut film.
The trailer begins with hundred of thousands of men sitting on the beach as a voice narrates about the “colossal military disaster.”
“We shall never surrender,” the voice says before we get more footage of just how many soldiers were sitting ducks in Dunkirk, France during World War II.
“When 400,000 men couldn’t get home, home came for them,” the screen reads. If this doesn’t give you chills, then we don’t know what will.
The sound of a ticking clock helps build anticipation grows throughout the trailer. The military located on the beach has activated the civilian boats to come in and save their men, but can they help?
Next, we see a closer look at the men who are trying to get off the beach and home to safety, including Styles, who looks as dapper as ever.
There are explosions and missile attacks on the ships of British, Belgium, Canada and France allied forces, which leaves men lying in the water waiting to be rescued.
Despite the efforts of the civilians, it’s clear that they need the Navy to save the men on Dunkirk.
“We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing ground. We shall never surrender,” the voice says as the ticking clock keeps going.
We get one last glimpse of Styles and the rest of the soldiers as water fills up the carrier they were on and he swims to another solider for help. Who will survive? What happens when only civilians boats come to save these men?
We have so many questions. Plus, does Styles’ character live? We need to know!
Dunkirk hits theaters on July 21, 2017.
