We have another look at the upcoming Wonder Woman film and this time Gal Gadot is showing off her action skills. On Monday (May 1), during an all-new episode of Gotham, DC Entertainment released an extended clip from the movie and it’s surprisingly funny.
While it isn’t the official trailer we’ve all been waiting for, it does show a little bit of new footage that we haven’t seen in any of the other teaser clips — sword jokes and all.
The trailer begins with Diana, princess of the Amazons (aka Gadot), jumping into the water to save Chris Pine’s character, pilot Steve Trevor. While we have seen her first encounter with him before, this time they talk a little more about her past.
“I had no father, I was brought to life by Zeus,” she says, to which Steve replies, “Right.”
The teaser then shows a new glimpse at her past, of her riding a horse, and running free in the Amazon. Plus, her training spot as a child is revealed — on a rock overlooking a gorgeous island scenery.
Wonder Woman is ready to defend the world and restore peace as she was put on this Earth to do, or at least that’s what she tells us in this clip.
There are also a few fun shots of her trying to see if she can fight while wearing retro garb from England (the film is set during World War I).
The one thing she won’t let go of? Her sword and protective wrist armor. It is what makes her seemingly invincible, so we support her keeping these things in her wardrobe. Plus, it makes for a few funny jokes at the end of the teaser.
Wonder Woman is set to hit theaters on June 2, 2017.
