Fans of The Dark Tower don’t have too much longer to wait before we get a full blown trailer for the upcoming adaptation of Stephen King’s iconic tale. If you’re brimming with excitement for the film, however, you can get a small taste of the trailer to come right now.
The Dark Tower stars Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba took to Twitter to have fun exchange about the film, which ended in fans getting treated to not one, but two small sneak peeks at the upcoming trailer.
McConaughey, who plays the Man in Black in the adaptation, kicked things off by tweeting Elba, asking his co-star a simple question: “You want the Tower?”
Fittingly, Elba, who plays Roland Deschain in the film, replied back in character.
“To find the tower is my purpose. I’m sworn,” wrote the actor.
Each short 15-second clip offered fans a quick look at McConaughey and Elba’s respective characters, and a perfect taste of what’s in store on Wednesday (May 3) when the full trailer for The Dark Tower officially hits the internet.
Directed by Danish filmmaker and screenwriter Nikolaj Arcel, The Dark Tower is set in an Old West like world and follows the gunslinger Roland Deschain (Elba) as he journeys on a quest to find the Dark Tower in the hopes that reaching the fabled landmark might help save the world he lives in from perishing.
The Dark Tower hits theaters on August 4.
