You’re not the only one who can’t get enough of Big Little Lies. The cast of the series are ready for more, too.

While the executive producer of the drama has gone on record to say “there’s no reason to make a season 2,” stars Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman aren’t quite ready to give up on more episodes. In fact, Witherspoon told E! News that she and Kidman recently discussed a second season — and it certainly sounds like they’re doing everything they can to make it a reality. The only potential roadblock? The HBO drama is an adaptation of Liane Moriarty’s best-selling novel of the same name, and since season one already depicted the story from start to finish, there’s no more source material to work with. Of course, that’s not about to stop Witherspoon and Kidman.

“We’re talking to Liane Moriarty, who wrote the book, about how could these characters go on, what would happen? We definitely left it open-ended so there’s a possibility there,” Witherspoon told E! News.

Just how serious is Witherspoon about reprising her role as Madeline? During a Facebook Live video with costar Laura Dern earlier this month, Witherspoon encouraged fans to send their ideas to the author for a second season.

“One of the main questions everyone keeps asking us is, ‘Is there going to be a season two,’” Witherspoon said in her Facebook Live video. “We’ve been talking briefly with the writer, and you guys should Facebook Liane Moriarty [the writer of the novel Big Little Lies] and tell her how much you want to see Big Little Lies 2. That would be good. She’s thinking about ideas, and so we would love to hear ideas.”
