Teen Wolf alum Dylan O’Brien is on the hunt for bad guys in the trailer for his new movie American Assassin.

On Tuesday (April 18), Lionsgate and CBS Films released the first trailer for the film, and it shows  O’Brien kicking butt and taking names.

In the movie, O’Brien plays Mitch Rapp, a Black ops recruit with a troubled past.

The trailer opens with a woman interviewing O’Brien’s character (Mitch Rapp). She asks him to relive his parents’ death, and we learn that they died in a car crash.

Mitch then talks about his girlfriend, who he proposed to on a beach just moments before terrorists attacked the area and gunned her down.

“You gave up everything after that didn’t you Mitch?” the woman asks.

“No, not everything,” he replies.

Mitch has been on a mission ever since that moment on the beach to kill the terrorists who hurt his loved ones.

Mitch is then recruited to be trained alongside numerous other young men by Michael Keaton’s character, Stan Hurley.

There are glimpses of the actual training in the woods, the fights, Mitch’s journey to getting revenge and helping save others in the process as an assassin.

“What is it you think we do here?” Keaton says. “Kill people who deserve to be killed,” O’Brien responds.

As if the intense plot wasn’t enough of a draw, Friday Night Light’s Taylor Kitsch also makes an appearance in the trailer, so that’s always an added bonus.

We’re looking forward to Dylan O’Brien playing a darker character. What about you?

American Assassin hits theaters on September 15, 2017.
