The wait is finally over! Your first look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi has arrived, and it’s going to give you chills!
On Friday (April 14), as a part of the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando, Fla., Disney and Lucasfilm released the first trailer for its latest Star Wars film.
So what can we expect from the upcoming movie? Well, for starters it’s going to be a battle to the very end.
The trailer begins with Rey’s (Daisy Ridley) hand hitting a rock, and her breathing heavily on an island. It’s the same island that we saw Luke on in The Force Awakens.
Next you hear a voice say, “Breathe, just breathe. Now reach out, what do you see?”
As Rey reaches out and describes what she sees, glimpses of light (in the form of Princess Leia, played by the late Carrie Fisher), a map and a cliff appear.
There are images of the new cast fighting the good fight, as well as Jedis training on that same island in preparation for one last fight.
Of course, a Star Wars trailer wouldn’t be complete without shots of the actual battle scenes, space crafts flying everywhere, and fire from explosions. Oh, and lightsabers, there are a few lightsabers.
At the end of the teaser the voice returns and it’s pretty haunting.
“I only know one truth, it’s time for the Jedi to end,” Mark Hamill (aka Luke Skywalker) says as you see him in a dark cave. It is SO ominous and yet we can’t wait to see it all unfold.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi is set to hit theaters on December 15, 2017.
