Hotel for Dogs came out in 2009, so it’s about time for another installment, don’t you think? Actor Jake T. Austin is totally on board with a sequel, okay not really, but he does like to joke about it.

After a fan tweeted a throwback photo of the Hotel for Dogs movie poster, Austin shared that the movie really was “Good times.”

While his tweet in no way suggested a reunion of the film, which also starred Emma Roberts and Johnny Simmons, it did lead to one of his co-stars teasing a sequel.

“@JakeTAustin Should we tell people we finished filming the sequel? Or should we just let @RobertsEmma announce the release date?,” Simmons wrote on Twitter on Monday.

We’re not going to lie, seeing Austin, Simmons and Roberts back together with a bunch of dogs would NOT be a bad movie idea. That being said, the former Wizards of Waverly Place star kind of liked the idea as well… in a joking way.

“I guess the cat’s out of the bag now ha! 🐱🐶 #HFD2,” Austin replied, sending fans into a frenzy.

Some fans replied with dancing gifs to this Twitter tease, while others wrote things like, “This better be real I swear,” or “This better not be a lie.”

While fans seem to be totally on board for another Hotel for Dogs film, we’re betting on this tweet being nothing more than a trip down memory lane and a punny joke. Sorry, all!

In the off chance that Austin isn’t just joking, we vote for Hotel for Dogs 2 coming out on the original film’s 10-year anniversary, which is in 2019!

What do you think about another Hotel for Dogs movie?
