‘Prison Break’ Creator Just Crushed Fan Hopes For Season 6

Prison Break is officially back and arguably better than ever! In fact, fans are so on board with the revival, which premiered on Fox this past Tuesday (April 4), that they’re already wondering if there could be more to Michael, Linc, and Sarah’s stories after this new batch of nine episodes runs its course.

Unfortunately, viewers hoping a successful revival could mean more Prison Break in the future shouldn’t get their hopes up too high.

Series creator Paul T. Scheuring recently sat down with Collider where he opened up about diving back into the world of Prison Break. In doing so, Scheuring also hinted that this could really be the end of Michael Scofield’s story.

“I don’t like embarking on a story unless I know exactly where it ends. The reason I signed on to do this season was because I knew where the season ended,” explained Scheuring. “I couldn’t tell you another story about this group of people.”

While Scheuring doesn’t see himself returning to the world of Prison Break any time soon, he’s not completely closing the door on the possibility for more.

“Maybe somebody else can, or by accident, I’ll somehow, possibly, dream up another prison escape that’s new and fresh, but I would bet against it,” said Scheuring.

The good news is that it sounds as though the cast is game to come back for more, which means  if Scheuring does come up with another great story, the odds of getting the gang back together are in our favor.

For now, we’ll just have to settle for taking one last wild ride with Michael, Linc, and the rest of the gang.

Prison Break airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox
