Dwayne Johnson’s upcoming Jumanji follow up is shaking things up in a very big way!

Children of the ’90s will undoubtedly remember that much of Jumanji centered around the main characters needing to finish a boardgames before all of the horrors of the jungle were sucked back into the magical toy. But if you were expecting the 2017 adaptation to follow suit, you’ll be sorely disappointed.

In fact, The Hollywood Reporter reports that Johnson’s upcoming continuation will find Jumanji the game going digital. Instead of players getting sucked into a board game, they’ll find themselves sucked into a video game.

Those lucky enough to get into the Jumanji panel at this year’s CinemaCon were treated to a short clip as to how the video game will come into play. According to The Hollywood Reporter, who was in attendance at the panel on Monday, the new footage featured four teens who stumble across an old video game console after they’re ordered to clean out a high school basement during detention.

After that, one thing leads to another and before they know it, the teens find themselves sucked into the world of Jumanji where they take on the forms of their virtual avatars (played by Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, and Karen Gillan).

It definitely sounds like Johnson and the rest of the team are putting a fun new twist on a timeless classic, and we can’t wait to see what adventures are in store for us when Jumanji hits the big screen later this year!

Jumanji premieres in theaters on Dec. 22, 2017.
