When it comes to memorable family dramas, there’s no denying that Bridge to Terabithia holds a special place in our hearts.

Based on the book by Katherine Paterson, the adaptation tells the story of outsiders Jess (Josh Hutcherson) and Leslie (AnnaSophia Robb) who become fast friends after Leslie moves in next door. One day after school, Jess and Leslie find an abandoned tree house on the other side of a creek in the woods and thus, Terabithia is born.

While the story centers around Jess and Leslie’s friendship and adventures, we’d be remiss to forget that there’s one other important character in the story and that’s none other than Jess’ little sister, May Belle. There’s no denying Jess harbors a bit of resentment for his little sister but by the end of the film, their relationship definitely changes for the better and the way their sibling bond evolves is one of our favorite parts about the film.

It’s been a decade since Bridge to Terabithia hit the silver screen, and if you’re wondering what May Belle actress Bailee Madison is up to these days, it turns out, she’s still acting!

Since wrapping on the fantasy drama, the actress has landed roles in a slew of big name television series including Nickelodeon’s Unfabulous, Disney Channel’s Wizards of Waverly Place, Trophy Wife, Once Upon a Time, and The Fosters. The young actress also co-starred opposite Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler in the hit 2011 rom-com, Just Go With It.

Up next, Madison is set to star in the family film, Cowgirl’s Story where she’ll play a girl named Dusty Rhodes who struggles to fit in to a new school.

Despite her busy schedule, a quick look at her Instagram shows that Madison isn’t one to forget her roots. The rising star recently took a trip back home and it looks like she’s had quite a ball while back in Fort Lauderdale, Florida!

We’re glad to see Madison is still doing well for herself and we can’t wait to see what other projects she signs on for as the years go by!
