We’ve already met Marvel’s Iron Fist’s Colleen Wing, but now it’s time to meet the show’s lead! On Tuesday, Netflix released a new clip titled, “I Am Danny,” and it focuses on Danny Rand, duh.

Danny is the lead on the new series, and is played by Finn Jones. Throughout the teaser we learn why Danny is the way he is, and how on earth he got there. Spoiler alert: he is a total tough guy, who kicks a lot of butt.

Okay, so let’s break down Danny’s tale.

“Cast away your childish needs,” a terrifying voice says, as Danny sits in on a couch reflecting on his past. “Burry your mother, burry your father,” the voice continues as you see a plane crash that killed his parents and he somehow survived.

“Tell me who you are,” the two monks yell.

“I am the Iron Fist,” Danny says.

Next, we see that Danny does eventually return to New York, but everything is different. Danny learns that his two best friends are now billionaires who are running his father’s corporation. They don’t believe he is who he says he is because everyone assumed he died in the plane crash.

In the following shot, we see Danny kicking some butt as he tries to make sense of the world and his new life. He meets Colleen, who asks how he learned to fight. We find out Danny spent 15 years in a monastery training to become this warrior.

Danny has been told there’s a mythological dark force in the world, but once he returns to New York he learns it is all too real.

He’s trying to find out what are the dark forces, who is the good guy, who is his enemy. Throughout the teaser you see Danny fighting, trying to figure out who to trust, and deciding where he fits in. His journey to the truth and to saving everyone from the darkness begins next month!

Marvel’s Iron Fist premieres on Netflix on March 17, 2017.
