On Tuesday, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had one heck of a midseason finale episode. There was SO much action, shocks and twists that we’re still reeling from watching it.
While we can’t believe what we saw, we’re not going to spoil it for you guys… sorry. We do, however, have some good news, or bad news, depending on your thoughts on one particular character.
After the Tuesday night episode, Marvel Entertainment released a preview clip featuring a familiar face. They teased that when the series returns in April, someone you all know will be coming back as well.
“SPOILER WARNING: Guess who’s back… #AgentsofSHIELD,” the studio tweeted after the killer episode had concluded.
So, who is coming back and what does the quick clip show? It all starts with a script filling the screen. “Identity and Change” the episode title reads on the script, which already makes us more excited for spring.
“We’re ready for you sir…” a voice says, before the person holding the script lowers it and reveals his face. It’s Brett Dalton!
Dalton played Grant Ward/Hive from 2013 to 2016. The last time we saw him was at the end of Season 3 when S.H.I.E.L.D. had to spring into action to combat Hive. There was an epic fight scene between Hive and Daisy (Chloe Bennet), which might trigger your memory.
In the end Hive was killed by being blown up in space. Despite the fact that we saw him die, the teaser shows him alive and well… or at least that’s what we’re made to believe.
The rest of the trailer shows, Dalton’s chair on set, which reads, “B.R.E.T.T.” and then you hear the director yell, “All right, here we go. Let’s roll cameras. And action!”
This teaser is just adding so much suspense to the Season 4 cliffhanger we just watched. What are we going to do for two months?
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns this April.
