Don’t count the The Originals out just yet!
On Sunday (Jan. 8), The CW president Mark Pedowitz revealed the fate of a lot of the network’s series during his Television Critics Association panel, but one show that wasn’t really discussed was The Originals.
Because the vampire drama has yet to begin its fourth season, Pedowitz didn’t say whether or not it would be renewed once its midseason premiere hits in March and season 4 gets underway.
Instead, he talked about his confidence in Julie Plec, the creator and showrunner of the series.
“I’m hoping that The Originals can continue, a lot of it will depend on performance,” Pedowitz said during the panel, as reported by Deadline.
Following Pedowitz’s remarks, Plec took to Twitter to tease what she has in mind for the future of the series… sort of.
“We have big, big plans,” Plec tweeted in regards to the CW boss’ earlier comments. “I have faith.”
Okay, we know that Plec rarely gives away too many details and always avoids spoilers, so this is the best we’re going to get, and we’re okay with it.
As long as the plans are big, and Plec is happy about the storyline, fans should be happy and ready for a LOT of new things coming from The Originals in the spring.
The Originals returns on March 17, 2017 on The CW.
