If you just can’t wait for the highly anticipated Supergirl/The Flash musical crossover then you’re in luck— The CW has just announced a few details with regards to what you can expect when the big episode premieres!
News of a musical crossover sent fans into a frenzy when it was first announced last summer, but many were still left wondering how producer Greg Bertlanti would pull such a feat off. Now, we’ve got our first bit of information as to how they’ll be weaving music into the plot of both shows for the special two-part crossover event, and it turns out they’ll be doing it with a little help from a certain villain from the DC Comics universe.
According to TV Line, Berlanti revealed during the 2017 TCAs that the musical episode would be put into motion with the introduction of The Music Meister, a villain comics fans will undoubtedly be familiar with.
For those who need a bit of a refresher, The Music Meister has the ability to hypnotize people into doing whatever he pleases when he sings in a particularly high note. Batman fans might even remember The Music Meister playing a significant role in the animated series, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, where he was voiced by none other than Neil Patrick Harris.
We imagine that if tapped for the live action role on The CW, Harris would blow us all away, but unfortunately, it looks as though it’s too early for the showrunners to be thinking that far ahead. According to Berlanti, they haven’t gotten around to casting The Music Meister yet.
“We’re certainly huge fans of [Harris],” said showrunner Andrew Kreisberg. “And as the casting proceeds, we’ll see what happens.”
We’re definitely looking forward to following along as everyone involved with the big Supergirl/The Flash musical crossover continues to work on the two part episode!
