Will & Grace fans seemingly had a lot to celebrate this week when series star Leslie Jordan said that we’d see a revival of the beloved sitcom come fall.
Unfortunately, it looks like Jordan, who played Karen’s rival on the show, may have been jumping the gun. In fact, Grace herself, Debra Messing, took to Twitter on Tuesday (Jan. 2) afternoon to set the record straight with regards to the possibility of a Will & Grace revival.
“Sadly Leslie was wrong,” tweeted Messing. “Nothing beyond talks.”
Originally, Jordan had revealed in a radio interview with KPBS that Will & Grace was “back.” The actress even revealed how many episodes fans could expect from the revival.
“Here’s the way it works: [NBC] has ordered 10 [episodes]. It’ll be for next season,” said Jordan according to TV Line.
While we’re sad to hear that the Will & Grace revival of our dreams hasn’t officially been greenlit yet, we’re still taking comfort in the fact that Messing said they’re talking about it.
Here’s hoping the showrunners and NBC are able to work something out! After that hilarious election themed one-off scene we got in the fall, we’re dying to see more of what Will, Grace, Karen, and Jack are up to these days!
