Eddie Redmayne has made no attempt to hide the fact that he’s a huge pop culture fan. The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them star recently admitted to auditioning for the role of young Voldemort in the Potter films, but it turns out, He Who Must Not Be Named isn’t the only baddie Redmayne’s auditioned for.

Redmayne recently sat down with the Happy Sad Confused podcast where he revealed that he once auditioned for a role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Just like with his Potter audition for Tom Riddle in Chamber of Secrets, Redmayne admitted it didn’t go welll.

Thanks to an new interview with Uproxx, we now know exactly which role in Star Wars Redmayne auditioned for and it turns out it was for Kylo Ren!

Redmayne recounted his audition and said that because the film was so top secret, he ended up needing to read a scene from “Star Trek…or like something from Pride and Prejudice.

“Then they tell you you’re auditioning for a baddie. If you’re me, you then put some ridiculous voice on,” Redmayne told Uproxx. “That was really a hilarious moment. Because it was Nina Gold, who I have to thank a lot because she’s cast me in several films. And she was just sitting there and I was trying again and again with different versions of my kind of “koohh paaaah” [Darth Vader breathing sound] voice. And after like ten shots she’s like, “You got anything else?” I was like, “No.”

Redmayne may not have fulfilled his dream of getting to star in the space odyssey, but it’s clear fate had bigger plans in store for him. We can’t wait to see him take on the wizarding world as Newt Scamander in just a few weeks!

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them opens in theaters on Nov. 18.
