Lady Gaga has conquered the airwaves and TV and now, the “Perfect Illusion” singer is officially making the leap over to the big screen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has announced that fans can expect A Star Is Born to hit the silver screen on Sept. 28, 2018.
The upcoming musical marks Cooper’s directorial debut, and while Gaga has appeared in films like Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, Muppets Most Wanted, and Men In Black 3, A Star Is Born does mark the first time the Golden Globe winner is set to take on a starring role.
The upcoming film is based off of William Wellman’s 1937 film which tells the story of a movie star on the decline who decides to help an aspiring actress.
Cooper’s A Star Is Born will mark the third time the film has been remade and in assuming the starring role, Gaga joins the likes of Barbara Streisand and Judy Garland, both of whom have spearheaded remakes.
It’s clear Gaga has some big shoes to fill, but we have a feeling that if anyone can pull off a role with this much history, it’s her!
A Star Is Born hits theaters on Sept. 28, 2018.
