Shortly after fans were let in on the good news, Blanchard took to her Instagram to share her excitement with the world.
“Super thrilled to be joining the exceptional @directher’s A Wrinkle in Time,” wrote Blanchard in the caption of the photo. “(getting to be a part of things that are changing the world.)”
Blanchard isn’t the only new cast member set to join the upcoming adaptation of Madeline L’Engle’s classic sci-fi novel. According to EW, Andre Holland (American Horror Story: Roanoke) and Zach Galifinakis have also joined the cast of the film. There’s still no word yet on who Blanchard and Galifinakis will play, but we do know that Holland has been cast in the role as Principal Jenkins.
We may not know too many specifics regarding Blanchard’s role in A Wrinkle in Time, but fact that she’s officially been cast is definitely cause for excitement!
Originally published in 1963, L’Engle’s novel tells the story of a young girl whose father goes missing after working on a mysterious project known only as the Tesseract.
Filming on the project is set to begin Wednesday (Nov. 2) in Los Angeles, and A Wrinkle in Time is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2018.
