With the final season of Bones set to kick off in January, fans can look forward to seeing a familiar face back in the lab.

Betty White, who previously guest-starred on the FOX series as Dr. Beth Mayer, will reprise her role come the new year, Deadline reports. She is set to return during the 10th episode of the final season and based on her performance last time, you know it’ll be good.

Bones fans will remember White’s character as one of the very few forensic anthropologists that got under Dr. Temperance Brennan’s aka Bones’ (Emily Deschanel) skin throughout the years.

Dr. Mayer is the world’s most experienced forensic anthropologist, which is obviously annoying to Bones, who likes to be right. Even though Dr. Mayer never tried to one up her, she somehow won over everyone at the Jeffersonian and was pretty impressive in the lab, which we loved.

White’s return isn’t the only thing Fox has teased about the 12th and final season of the crime-solving show. Last week the network revealed that there will be “a wedding” and “an epic serial killer storyline,” in a press release reported by TVLine.

We’re most excited however, for the undercover mission, which is going to be at a lumberjack competition, which means Booth (David Boreanaz) wearing flannel and carrying a giant axe. Now if only we could predict what Bones will wear during this mission… oh well, we guess we’ll have to wait and see!
