It’s time to pull out your passport because the Minions are coming to Japan next year and we can’t wait to visit.
Universal Studios Japan located in Osaka, Japan is officially getting a Minions-themed land and it’s going to be huge. The park announced the news this week in a press release that this Minion Park will be the biggest Despicable Me land of all, and all we can think about is that the more Minions there are running around, the better.
The new attraction will include a toy store (yay!), sweet factory, hotel and of course a new ride the press release explains via Entertainment Weekly. It will also feature a theater-based attraction called Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem.
According to the release, parkgoers will join Gru, his three adorable daughters, and lots of Minions, on a “heartwarming and hilarious 3-D ride, where they’ll be recruited for his latest scheme – and become an actual Minion.”
It will also “include a run through Gru’s laboratory and a quick flight through the air before a crash landing brings riders back to Earth.” Talk about a cool ride!
While there are already awesome Minions attractions at both Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood parks, the Japan location will be unique based on the Minion Park that will span around the main 3-D ride.
“These facilities have already been ‘taken over’ by the Minions themselves,” the theme park explained.
“[They] journey alongside guests through Minion Park via a winding, center passage.”
The brand-new Despicable Me world will open in early 2017 at Universal Studios Japan, so mark your calendars for even more fun come the new year.
