There was a High School Musical reunion this weekend — and it happened on Broadway!
High School Musical alums Zac Efron and Lucas Grabeel reunited in NYC on Tuesday night to see their fellow Disney Channel co-star, Corbin Bleu, kill it in the Broadway production of Roundabout Theatre Company’s Holiday Inn.
“@mrgrabeel and I saw @corbinbleu DANCE on AIR a la Fred Astaire last night,” Efron captioned his black-and-white selfie of the trio. “He tapped ‘Firecracker’ and lit the stage on 🔥 with his moves! Check out #HolidayInnMusical #amazingshow #theboysareback,” he added.
Bleu plays Ted Hanover in the new Irving Berlin musical and according to his Disney Channel Original Movie friends, he is great in the role. The 27-year-old actor even did the famous “Firecracker” dance from the 1942 film, featuring real firecrackers and tap dancing. Luckily, Bleu has the skills to tap dance his way into fans’ hearts and blow the minds of his longtime friends.
“Just a couple of wildcats on a #Broadway stage. @corbinbleu killed it last night in #HollidayInnMusical! @ZacEfron So much love for these guys,” Grabeel wrote on a photo of the Wildcat guys on stage after the show.
These three reuniting for any reason makes us smile, but reuniting on a musical stage, makes it even better. Too bad all the High School Musical guys aren’t in the Holiday Inn musical – that would be a real dream come true. A friendly reunion will have to do this time around, but maybe, just maybe, this hang out session will inspire these handsome actors to reunite for a movie in the near future.
If you want to check out the HSM alum in his current musical gig, you can buy tickets here. The show runs through January 15, which is perfect since the musical is all about love, singing, dancing, and, well, holidays!
