Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life’s premiere might still be over a month away, but this week you can transport yourself to Luke’s Diner and actually be a part of Stars Hollow!
In honor of the new Netflix four-part series, the streaming service is bringing a part of the fictional Connecticut town to fans. Netflix will be transforming 200 cafes all over the United States into Luke’s Diner for one day – October 5. If you decide to visit one of the cool pop-ups near you, there will be “Luke’s Diner essentials,” Netflix announced via Entertainment Weekly. What do those “essentials” include you might ask? T-shirts and branded aprons that’s what.
There will also be free coffee, because it wouldn’t be a Gilmore Girls party without a cup of joe! In fact, Netflix explained that the first 200 people at each location will get a free 12-ounce cup of coffee with a cup that has a “fun surprise under their custom Gilmore Girls coffee sleeve.”
You can see where the closest pop-up shop near you is located by visiting, townofstarshollow.org. While we don’t know if any of the cast is planning on making a surprise appearance at one of the many locations, we are definitely wondering if the “no cell phones” sign and rule will apply like it does on the show. Fingers crossed it doesn’t, otherwise how will we take photos of ourselves in Luke’s Diner?
Pop-ups will run from 7 a.m. to noon on Oct.5. Make sure to get their early if you want a chance at the free coffee and gear!
