Calling all pirates — or fans of the Disney franchise, the time is finally here to see what the next installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean looks like. There is a new villain on the high seas and only Captain Jack Sparrow can stop him… hopefully.
On Sunday night, zombie fans in the form of Fear the Walking Dead viewers got an extra treat when the Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales trailer debuted during a pause in the all-new AMC episode. The jam-packed season finale was made even better when we finally got a glimpse at Captain Jack Sparrow’s (Johnny Depp) newest foe.
Trust us, this new trailer is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. The teaser begins with a ship sailing into a dark and gloomy cave, as the fog sets in. After getting a look at the British soldiers on the ship, eerie music begins to play and the fog gets heavier, which gave us chills.
You then see a pair of pirate boots hit the deck as figures come from behind and start a battle with the soldiers on the ship. No one seems to survive the bloody ordeal, except a young boy named Henry (Brenton Thwaites) below deck. Until now, we’ve only seen dark figures and those distinctive boots, but soon the camera pans up to a Wanted sign of Captain Sparrow and the man responsible for this ship’s massacre, Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem), stabs the sign with his sword.
Salazar wants Henry to find Sparrow and give him and message. What is the oh-so important message you ask? “Tell him… death will come straight for him,” Salazar says, while still holding the Wanted poster with his sword. Oh, and we almost forgot this band of pirates have misshapen faces and look like the walking dead — not like the TV show, but sort of similar!
This tale centers around the creepy Captain Salazar and his crew of ghost pirates as they set out to kill every remaining pirate at sea, including Captain Jack Sparrow. While you don’t actually see the infamous Captain in this trailer, he’ll be in the movie, trying to find an artifact called the Trident of Poseidon, which grants the owner total rule over the sea, which could help him beat the new villain.
Pirate favorites, Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Captain Barbossa (Geoffrey Rush) will also be back this time around and we can’t wait to see what Captain Jack and his motley crew does to come out on top!
