There’s no denying Shawn Mendes is having a great year when it comes to his music career, but has all of the success gone to the “Stitches” singer’s head?
Not exactly! In fact, Mendes is so nice, he takes it to a whole new level in the latest sketch from Funny Or Die.
The Canadian star teamed up with the website to record a comedy sketch in which Mendes takes a ride with a limo driver who assumes that he’s just another “punk popstar.”
“I’m not falling for his sweet Canada boy act,” says the limo driver from the get go as he talks on the phone with a friend. “I see right through him.”
The irony is, despite the driver’s inability to see it, Mendes is far from a diva and the singer shows it through the course of the video.
“Do you mind turning down the radio?” asks Mendes at one point.
“Oh of course, I wouldn’t want to hurt the little prince’s ears,” replies the driver.
“Oh, no, it’s just I have to call the soup kitchen I volunteer at to wish them a happy Wednesday,” explains Mendes.
As the skit progresses, Mendes’ kindness gets more and more intense as he does everything from leaving a note for himself to send a fan from Topeka a wild sunflower, to asking the limo driver to pull over so they can pick up a visually impaired man walking on the street alone.
