Whatever you do, don’t call Britney Spears‘ recent resurgence a comeback.

Though the Princess of Pop has had a residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas for the past 3 years, it’s only recently — while she’s promoting her new album Glory — that she’s been popping up to perform at other venues.

During an interview with the Today Show in early September, Spears set the record straight on Glory, which features the hit single, “Make Me,” saying it’s in no way a comeback album.

“I think I’ve never really left. I’ve always been here,” Spears told Natalie Morales during her Today Show interview. “So [it’s] just like … maybe a reinvention of myself and just a different time in my life — a really good, glorious time.” You tell them girl!

Spears is definitely back and better than ever, but truth be told, did she ever really leave? We’d be lying if we said we haven’t been blasting songs off her first eight studio albums in the three years it took her to create new music.

Plus, Spears is officially back performing world-wide after appearing at London’s Apple Music Festival on Tuesday, where she slayed yet another performance. There’s no word on whether or not she is actually putting together a tour, but fingers crossed she does!
