Sunday night was all about TV and naming the best shows, actors and actresses on the silver screen, but it was the reunions at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards that we’re still talking about. In addition to a Gossip Girl reunion, an Ugly Betty catch-up happened on the red carpet and it was everything.
When America Ferrera hit the red carpet over the weekend, all eyes were on her for more than one reason. For starters, the Superstore actress — who was fresh off finishing a triathlon — looked gorgeous in a Jenny Packham gown.
If that wasn’t enough to gush about, Ferrera ran into her Ugly Betty co-star, Judith Light, or rather, Light stopped by in the middle of Ferrera’s Access Hollywood interview to share a sweet embrace. In the ABC series, which ended in 2010, Ferrera played Betty Suarez and Light played the head of the Meade family, Claire Meade, who technically owned the company Betty worked for. In real life, these two actresses are best friends.
“Ran into my all time favorite @Judithlight on the Emmy red carpet in the middle of our respective @accesshollywood interviews!” Ferrera wrote on her Instagram with a loving photo of the two stars. “The rest of the interview is just squealing. #UglyBettyFamily #clairemeade #icon #iphone7.”
The rest of Ferrera’s interview wasn’t all screams and hugs, but there was definitely a lot of love captured by the network. The feelings weren’t one-sided by any means either. Light was as excited and giddy seeing her longtime friend as the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants actress was to see her.
“If I ever had a daughter, this would be her,” Light said on camera, as she jumped in on the 32-year-old actress’s red carpet interview.
