Sorry, Firefly fans, but a revival of the series might never happen! Nathan Fillion finally addressed fans’ hopes for another season of the cult classic, and it’s not good news.
Set five hundred years in the future, Joss Whedon’s short-lived series followed a crew on a spacecraft as they traveled through unknown galaxies and tried to survive while people were out to get them. Though the series was a hit in the eyes of viewers, it only lasted one season and the show’s leading man, Fillion, who played Captain Malcolm “Mal” Reynolds, thinks it should stay that way.
“It’s really hard to look at that kind of stuff and say, ‘Give me more, because it’s not enough,'” Fillion said earlier this month during a Firefly panel at Long Beach Comic Expo via Entertainment Weekly. “It was everything. It was everything. How can everything not be enough?”
Okay Fillion, you make a good point, but we’re still not giving up on seeing Captain Reynolds back on TV in some way, shape or form, some day. Until then, Firefly fans can see the rest of the Firefly cast and their epic panel from last weekend’s Long Beach Comic Con below.
