Miley Cyrus is back on TV, and we aren’t talking about her debut as a coach on NBC’s The Voice. The 23-year-old singer and actress is finally heading back to television with the help of Woody Allen and Amazon and we’re freaking out over here!
Titled Crisis in Six Scenes, the six-episode, one-season Amazon series comes from the mastermind of Allen, who is legendary for his films and casting leading ladies such as Dianne Keaton, and most recently, Blake Lively and Kristen Stewart. While this isn’t another one of his fantastic films, with Cyrus as the leading lady, the TV series is bound to get some press and make a splash.
So what’s Crisis in Six Scenes about? Well according to the trailer (which you can see below), Allen plays a man named who is in the midst of writing a television series, but is struggling to make anything come together. The former Hannah Montana star will play a hippie, who not only steals the show in the trailer, but clearly is going to shake things up for Allen’s character and his wife, who are traditional, and a little uptight. Oh, and the whole series is set in the 1960s.
Our favorite teaser from the trailer is when Cyrus’s character, steals Allen’s character’s oranges. It just shows that she is a young, rebel soul, doing her own thing in a time where things are really about to change, which seems like a perfect fit for the singer, who is always standing up and standing out.
Crisis in Six Scenes will premiere on Amazon on September 30
