Steven Tyler might have a chance to join the Guardians of the Galaxy cast after all! After the Aerosmith frontman expressed interest in joining the franchise on Wednesday, the film’s director is finally responding and he’s not saying no!

In an interview with People last week, the 68-year-old musician — who boasts a list of acting accolades is frequently on TV — said that he wants in on the Marvel blockbuster.

“I would do anything to be in Guardians of the Galaxy 3 – are you listening James Gunn?” Tyler told People.

Well, James Gunn, who just recently wrapped production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, which hits theaters this May, definitely heard him, but did he listen? The short answer: yes!

“Yes, I did hear that Steven Tyler wants to be in Guardians of the Galaxy. He gave me a shout-out the other day in an interview He said, ‘James Gunn are you listening?’ The answer is: Steven, yes I am listening,” Gunn wrote during a Facebook Q&A via The Wrap.

“And I’m a big fan of Steven Tyler’s. I had the pleasure of directing his daughter Liv in a movie [Super in 2010] in which she was fantastic, and I met him for a few seconds at a screen of that movie. He’s a cool guy,” he continued. “And of course I would love to work with Steven Tyler sometime.”

There is currently no official word on whether or not there will even be a Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, but if there is, we’ll be waiting to see if Tyler gets his shot at being a Marvel hero or not. Even if it doesn’t happen you have to admit that Chris Pratt and Steven Tyler together would be pretty epic, so here’s to hoping!
