Mo’ money mo’ problems…but not for these artists.

As Forbes Magazine released their annual list of Hip-Hop’s Cash Kings yesterday (Sept. 7), fans noticed some familiar names atop the fiscal pyramid.

Diddy earned the top spot on the list for the second year in a row by earning an astonishing $62 million in the past year. Diddy’s numerous endorsement deals, his television channel Revolt and highly anticipated Bad Boy Reunion Tour definitely had something to do with this number. If Dr. Dre didn’t snag that $3 billion deal in 2014 with his historic Apple Beats partnership, this would have been Diddy’s fifth consecutive year topping the list.

Just behind Diddy on this year’s list is Jay Z, who earned $53.5 million in 2016 despite not dropping an album. Jay’s many business ventures kept the Roc Boy’s pockets full all year. And with HOV rumored to be dropping a new album soon, the New York rapper is slated to make even more this year.

Rounding out the top 3 is Dr. Dre, who earned $41 million. Dre had a historic run last summer with his hip-hop biopic Straight Outta Compton, and his coinciding compilation album Compton.

Just behind this trio of living hip-hop legends are the genre’s legends in the making. Toronto rapper Drake racked up $38.5 million in 2015 while Pittsburgh spitter Wiz Khalifa pulled in $24 million.  The only female artist to make the ranking once again is Nicki Minaj, who earned the lists sixth spot by making $20.5 million.

With the Forbes Hip-Hop Cash Kings list celebrating its tenth anniversary, the mag examined the pattern of increased earning in the hip-hop industry over the past decade.Check out the whole breakdown here.
