Groot is hooked on a feeling… a feeling of wanting to share some Guardians of the Galaxy news with his legions of Facebook fans!

Vin Diesel, who famously voices the extraterrestrial tree monster in the Guardians series, recently received an award from Facebook to commemorate having over 100 million fans. On Friday, the actor celebrated the honor with a Facebook live video in which he revealed some exciting news for Marvel fans: The Guardians of the Galaxy will appear in the next Avengers film.

“Now, the Guardians will be included in Avengers: Infinity War and that’s incredibly exciting,” Diesel said during his Facebook video. “You were told before everybody.”

The Guardians and Avengers sharing the same screen? We can’t begin to imagine Tony Stark’s reaction to the famously taciturn Groot.

While the Guardians will appear in Infinity War, don’t expect to see Cap, Hulk, or any of the Avengers in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, scheduled to arrive in theaters on May 5, 2017. During a recent Facebook chat of his own, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn revealed that he chose not to have any of the Avengers appear in the Guardians sequel.

Avengers: Infinity War is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2018.
