We’ve still got a full season left before The Vampire Diaries comes to a close, but that hasn’t stopped a few of the cast members from envisioning how it’ll all go down!

Ian Somerhalder and Paul Wesley recently attended a Vampire Diaries convention in Dallas over the weekend where they discussed the series’ inevitable end while taking questions from the crowd. Lucky for us, a fan who goes by the name of @gilded_lady took to Twitter to share a few tidbits from their panel.

While the supernatural takes a front seat on The Vampire Diaries, according to @gilded_lady, both actors revealed that it’d be nice to see the final few episodes to focus on the humanity of the Salvatore brothers.

“Paul: Last four eps: What if no supernatural things! It would be so great. Ian would like that focus on the human side #TVDDallas,” tweeted the fan.

When it comes to the actual final episode however, it sounds as though the boys are split as to how showrunner Julie Plec should ultimately leave things.

The actors also revealed some of the things they’ll miss most about working on the series once it comes to a close at the end of this season. For one thing, it sounds like they’ll be missing the city of Atlanta, which was become their home away from home.

“Paul will miss Atlanta,” tweeted @gilded_lady. He’ll go back eventually. Ian has his license and is registered to vote in GA #TVDDallas.”

“Ian wants to offer hope. Paul wants ambiguity #TVDDallas,” wrote the fan.

With the premiere of The Vampire Diaries’ final season just around the corner, we’re sure this is just the beginning of many bittersweet comments to come from the cast with regards to saying goodbye to the show!

The Vampire Diaries returns to The CW on Friday, October 21 at 8 p.m.
