The world will have to wait just a bit longer before we can all get our hands on Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion,” but that hasn’t stopped our Mother Monster from dishing out some insight as to what her newest single is all about.

Gaga swung by iHeartRadio’s headquarters in New York City on Wednesday (Aug. 18) where she opened up about the upcoming track, revealing that her new single is about the highs and lows that come with being in a relationship turned sour.

“The song is about modern ecstasy,” explained Gaga according to On Air With Ryan Seacrest. “We found our sweet, simple, rage way of saying it.”

From the way the “Born This Way” singer talks about her first single off of LG5, it’s apparent that she’s quite enamored with the track.

“I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it,” said Gaga of the song, which was a collaboration between the pop star, producer Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.

The fact that Gaga is so excited about the debut single off of her first album in years gives us hope that it’s going to be a total hit when it’s finally released next month.

Lady Gaga’s “Perfect Illusion” is set to drop in mid-September.
