Even though he’s the middle child, Joe Jonas is learning to take the lead…and doing it well. The 26-year-old star is the frontman of his own band, DNCE. The unorthodox pop rock band are already enjoying early success with their singles “Cake by the Ocean” and “Toothbrush.” The band is currently on tour with Selena Gomez taking over Asia, Europe and South America — not bad for a band that formed less than a year ago.
But no matter what genres he crossed over to or who he graces the stage with, Joe never forgets where he came from.
During an interview with #Legend magazine, the singer opened up about what he misses most about his time with the Jonas Brothers — and his pick is incredibly sweet.
“Traveling with my brothers and being able to spend a lot of time with them was great,” explained the JoBro when asked by #Legend writer Stephanie Ip what he missed about his former bandmates. “But we’re all focused on our individual careers and I think that time has passed.”
That’s not to say fans should give up entirely on a Jonas Brothers reunion, however.
“One day it will make sense to do something together again but, right now, we’re still focused on our individual careers and that’s what’s really important to us,” said Joe.
In case you were asleep for most of 2005, the Jonas Brothers were Disney golden boys as big as The Backstreet Boys and *Nsync. The trio scored their own show JONAS on Disney Channel and skyrocketed to superstar fame. Together, the guys sold over 17 million albums. The brothers went on hiatus in 2010 to pursue solo projects before trying to link up again for another album in 2013. Since the group’s breakup that same year, Nick has been working on his solo career, while Kevin and his wife Dani briefly starred in their own reality TV show. Joe, meanwhile, is gearing up for DNCE’s debut album, which is set to arrive this fall.
