Shonda Rhimes’ The Catch just caught a Grey’s Anatomy alum!

T.R. Knight will be joining The Catch in season 2, Deadline reported yesterday (July 19).

Executive produced by Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Allan Heinberg, The Catch follows private investigator Alice Vaughan (Mireille Enos) as she hunts for her fiancé who committed fraud in her name.

Though details on Knight’s character haven’t yet been revealed, there was a press release on his arrival with kind words from Shonda herself.

“This has been a thrilling secret to keep!” said Grey’s Anatomy and The Catch boss Rhimes in a release about Knight’s addition to the cast. “One of my favorite family members is home!”

Meanwhile, Knight posted an Instagram photo of a news article about his new career move, with the caption, “Happy indeed!”

The last time fans saw Knight in Shondaland, he was the lovable Dr. George O’Malley on Grey’s Anatomy. As an original cast member on the ABC medical drama, Knight starred in the show for the first five seasons and even earned an Emmy nomination before exiting in 2009. Since then, Knight appeared on Broadway alongside Matthew Broderick and Nathan Lane in It’s Only A Play, and has starred in other TV shows such as CBS’ The Good Wife.

The Catch returns for its sophomore season on ABC this fall.
