It looks like Chris Hemsworth is headed back to space! According to director J.J. Abrams,  fans can expect to see the Thor: Ragnarok star back for Star Trek 4.

The big news broke via Twitter on Friday after Access Hollywood film critic Scott “Movie” Mantz revealed that Hemsworth would be reprising his role as James T. Kirk’s (Chris Pine) father, George Kirk, and was officially confirmed by the studio today.

“BREAKING!! #JJAbrams confirms to me that a 4th #StarTrek movie will bring together #ChrisPine & #ChrisHemsworth!!” tweeted Mantz on Friday, July 15.

The last we saw of George Kirk, he was sacrificing himself to save his wife, newborn son, and everyone else who found themselves aboard the USS Kelvin in the first installment of the Star Trek reboot back in 2009.

Given his heroic death, we’re betting that whatever capacity we end up seeing George (Hemsworth) and James’ (Pine) come together again as father and son in is bound to be a bit emotional!

Until the moment comes, however, we will just have to settle for sinking our teeth into the third installment of the Star Trek franchise, which is set to hit theaters in just a few days.

Star Trek Beyond is out in theaters on July 22, 2016.
