The CW series took to Twitter to give fans a glimpse at the character’s new look with a photo featuring Wally standing tall in his new super suit.
Comic fans will be happy to note that the series has done a great job of paying homage to Kid Flash’s original costume, opting for the crimson/golden yellow color combination.
In the comics, Wally West/Kid Flash is set up to be The Flash’s sidekick, so fans familiar with the source material were expecting Wally to take up the mantle on the TV series as soon as he was introduced last year.
Suspicions were further confirmed in season 2 when we saw Wally’s father, Joe (Jesse L. Martin) debating over whether or not there it was possible for his son to have been hit with enough of Barry’s energy after an accident at STAR Labs for Wally to have developed powers of his own. Joe ended up dropping his suspicions after Wally seemingly walked away unaffected, but it’s clear now that super speed is definitely in the cards for Wally West!
We can’t wait to see Wally and Barry team up next season!
The Flash season 3 premieres on The CW Tuesday, October 4 at 8 p.m.
