Though fans were led to believe Firth’s character, Harry Hart, died at the end of the first film, a recent photo from the set of the sequel seems to confirm that the secret agent will live to see another day.
Game of Thrones star Pedro Pascal, who will portray a character by the name of Jack Daniels in the sequel, posted a photo from the set revealing Firth’s return.
“Hide behind Harry. #SafePlace #Kingsman2 #TheGoldenCircle,” Pascal captioned the photo.
The upcoming Kingsman sequel has added a number of big names to an already star-studded franchise including Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges, Channing Tatum, Julianne Moore, and Elton John. Rumors that Firth would be returning for another another round have been swirling for months now, despite the fact that his character received a bullet to the face in the 2015 movie. Back in April, Kingsman star Taron Egerton stirred up speculation after he tweeted out a photo of a pair of sunglasses with one of the lenses popped out along with the message “Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated,” which many took as a hint about Harry’s fate.
It’s evidently going to take more than a bullet to stop Harry Hart!
Also starring Mark Strong, Edward Holcroft, and Sophie Cookson, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is currently scheduled to be released on June 16, 2017.
