Thanks to her world tour, Katy Perry has been one busy bee over the past few years, but that doesn’t mean she hasn’t had time to work on new music. In fact, we may be hearing new tunes from the “Roar” singer sooner rather than later.
Last weekend, radio DJ Mike Adam from Philadelphia’s 96.5 AMP FM made waves via Twitter when he claimed that KatyCats could expect Perry’s first single from her forthcoming album to drop as early as August.
Despite the fact that Perry’s camp has yet to confirm whether or not well have our hands on a new single before the summer is over, Adam could be on to something here.
It’s been a while since Perry gave fans a status update on where she stands with her new album, but as far as we know, the “Firework” singer is still planning to release a new record sometime in 2016.
In May of 2015, Billboard reported that Perry’s manager, Steven Jensen, confirmed a 2016 release for the singer’s fourth full-length album.
“She plans to release her next album by 2016,” said Jensen during the All That Matters music and entertainment conference in Singapore.
Additionally, as Digital Spy points out, we know that Perry has already registered a few titles for new song tracks including, “Crocodile Tears,” “She’s So Creepy,” “In Flames,” “Heartache Crusade,” “Last Cry,” “North Star,” “Rise,” and “Victory.”
Could one of these registered song tracks be the rumored single we hear come August? We guess we’ll just have to wait until next month to find out!
