With Mike Ross’ (Adams) series-long secret that he never actually attended law school finally exposed, the USA drama is about to enter uncharted territory as the law firm of Pearson Specter Litt deals with the repercussions of the fifth season finale. When People’s Choice caught up with Adams and his Suits costar Gabriel Macht at the NBCU Upfronts earlier this year, Adams told us that season 6 feels like a “brand-new show.”
“I feel like I’m in this new little prison show,” Adams told us, before briefly breaking into song with his co-star. “[Gabriel Macht and I] obviously have scenes together cause we’re fighting to try and get me out early, and make the deals that we make. For me it’s been great. I get to work with brand-new actors, and I don’t have to wear suits all day.”
Meanwhile, Macht revealed that Harvey will spend the first half of the season trying to get get Mike out of prison.
"I'm trying to get this guy out!" Macht told us at the NBC Upfronts. "Look, Harvey feels fully responsible for hiring this guy... He's taken the hit; he's gone to jail, and I think Harvey's devastated by that. He feels terribly guilty, and he's doing anything he can to get him out of jail. And so that's what these first six episodes, maybe even ten, who knows, are going to be about."
Macht also teased that the new season will feature some familiar faces from Harvey's past.
"There's some great characters that come up from Harvey's past, and it's really [about] rebuilding the firm," the actor continued. "All of our clients have basically left, and so we're sort of at the bottom trying to reach our way back up."
Suits returns with an all new season on Wednesday, July 13 at 9/8C on USA.
