Vine star Cameron Dallas is the latest social media star to score a huge deal with Netflix.
The online streaming service has officially ordered an unscripted reality series starring the 21-year-old which will give fans a closer look into Dallas’ life. According to Deadline, the show will follow Dallas, his close friends, and his family as the rising star strives to grow his career. The reality series will reportedly also give Dallas’ fans the opportunity to learn more about who he is in his personal life, versus what they know of him from his extremely public online persona.
The show marks Netflix’s second venture with a high-profile internet sensation. The streaming service announced at the beginning of the year that they had given an eight-episode scripted series order to YouTuber Miranda Sing’s Haters Back Off series.
As for Dallas, making the switch over to starring in his own television show seems like the next logical step. The California native rose to fame after he began posting silly Vines of himself playing pranks on friends and family. Since then, Dallas has amassed over 9 million followers on Vine, and 5 million on Twitter. The social media guru has even starred in two feature-length films: the coming-of-age drama, The Outfield, and AwesomenessTV’s comedy, Expelled.
There’s no word yet as to when you can expect Cameron Dallas’ new reality show to hit Netflix, but you can be sure that we’ll let you know as soon as a release date is revealed!
