Gilmore Girls fans are well aware that we’ll be seeing all of Rory’s (Alexis Bledel) old flames pop up during Netflix’s highly anticipated revival. Now, it looks like our speculating over whether Rory will pick Dean (Jared Padelecki), Jess (Milo Ventimiglia), or Logan (Matt Czuchry) may have just gotten a bit easier.

In a recent interview with USA Today, actor David Sutcliffe, who reprises his role as Rory’s father, Christopher, in the upcoming mini-movies, opened up about his on-screen daughter’s future.

After the outlet asked him which of the boys he thinks Rory should end up with, Sutcliffe let fans in on the fact that Dean is out of the running.

“‘I’m not even sure where she’s at, but I’m partial to [Dean],” Sutcliffe told USA Today. “You know, I liked all the young actors that played her boyfriends. I know they’re not going to end up together, but Rory and Dean seem like a good couple.”

Sutcliffe’s comment is bound to break the hearts of Team Dean fans everywhere, but even so, we can’t say the reveal is all too surprising— especially considering that Padelecki himself hinted Dean might not have a huge role in the revival.

In May, Padelecki revealed during a Supernatural convention that his time on the Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life set reprising his role as Dean was short, but sweet.

“It’s a nice, a really nice scene that gave me closure,” said Padelecki of the scene he shot in Doose’s Market. “I never had closure, so it was fun to go wrap it up in a really cool way.”

Who do you think Rory should end up with?
