The first two Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films may have been geared for teens, but the next time we see Carmen, Bridget, Tibby, and Lena, the girls will be all grown up.

Blake Lively recently sat down with Sirius XM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio where she shed some light as to what changes fans can expect to see in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3.

One of the things Lively stressed was the fact that because she and her fellow co-stars Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, and Amber Tamblyn are all grown up, any Sisterhood story they choose to tell should be geared toward a more adult audience.

“We wouldn’t be making a movie for 16-year-olds again,” Lively told EW. “We would be making a movie trusting that our audience grew up with us. I think that would be really interesting to explore.”

Like Tamblyn, Lively assured fans that despite the fact that nearly 10 years have passed since the last movie, a Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3 is definitely in the works. And, it’s something that all the girls are passionate about exploring if and when the time comes.

“The four of us are still best friends and to be able to create something together again has always been a dream of ours,” said Lively. “But it would have to be something that really made sense. If you wait this long to do a third movie, it needs to honor the story and the legacy.”
