Good news, Frozen fans! Winter is arriving early as Disney just announced a bevy of brand-new original Frozen content.
Disney revealed that they’re extending their immensely popular Frozen brand with a series of books as well as four new animated shorts, Frozen Northern Lights, in which Elsa, Olaf, and company receive the Lego treatment. Airing this November on the Disney Channel, executive vice president of Disney Publishing Worldwide Andrew Sugerman revealed that Northern Lights will be “a brand-new original story” featuring the film’s original stars — Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, and Josh Gad — reprising their roles.

“It really comes down to quality of storytelling,” Sugerman said. “If we can create great stories that stand on their own and take these characters deeper into the world, then everything will evolve from there. With Northern Lights, we feel like we did exactly that.”
A TV special presenting the shorts is also scheduled to air on the Disney Channel in November.
The series of books will launch on July 5 with the 224-page story titled Journey to the Lights, which centers on the crew’s attempt to restore the glimmer of the Northern Lights. The book series, which plans to release nine more stories through the end of 2017, will feature original characters as well as a new protagonist named Little Rock.
