Fans of The Flash have spoken, and the showrunners behind the the hit CW series have listened!
DC aficionados have been long been hoping that The Flash would introduce the Flashpoint storyline and now, actor Grant Gustin has revealed that we’ll finally see the plot point play out in season 3.
Gustin took to his Twitter on Monday to share the good news with fans in a two part tweet. The first revealed that he had read the script for the first episode of season 3, but that he couldn’t give too many details away.
“Just finished reading episode 3-01 titled JK NOT GONNA TELL YOU YET! I’m SO excited to get back to work in 2 weeks,” wrote the actor.
Shortly after, showrunner Greg Bertlanti replied to Grant’s tweet with one of his own saying he could reveal the good news to fans.
“I’m cool with you telling them the title,” wrote Bertlanti with a smiley face.
Finally, Gustin took to twitter a second time to tweet out his excitement.
“FLASHPOINT. This is not a drill,” tweeted the actor.
The Flashpoint storyline is a crossover story arc that was featured back in 2011 and was written by Geof Johns, who now works as an executive producer on The Flash. The storyline introduces an alternate universe where only Barry is aware of the differences between this new timeline and the regular timeline we’ve all been following.
In the end, the events of the Flashpoint are a huge game changer for the story, so we’re definitely looking forward to seeing what kind of changes are in store for all of our favorite Flash characters now that we know the Flashpoint is officially happening.
