A talented songstress with a big name backing her up, Madison Beer may have yet to drop her debut album, but she’s already poised for success. The 17-year-old New York native first gained attention when Justin Bieber shared a link of her singing in 2014. With a co-sign like that, Beer has already scored a record deal and is working hard to hit the charts.
And not only did Bieber co-sign Beer, he’s also her mentor in the studio. People’s Choice caught up with the budding star backstage at The American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection event in New York City earlier this year to talk about the best advice the Biebs has given her so far.
“Just to never give up in general,” Madison explained. “Not only about music, but about life. You can never give up on yourself and you have to persevere and keep on pushing.”
Beer's first single, 2014's "Unbreakable," is already a testament to her talent and her mentality in the industry. But the singer explained why she's not rushing things when it comes to putting out more music, and how she looks to Bieber for input before releasing anything.
"He's such a huge part of my music and he's always trying to make sure he likes my music and I like my music," she said. "He really has such an ear for good music, so I always try to make sure he's happy with what I'm putting out."
