A new hero is about to hop aboard the Waverider on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow!
Actor Nick Zano, who’s has previously starred on Melrose Place, 90210, and the Amanda Bynes series What I Like About You, has joined the cast of Legends as a series regular for the upcoming season. Deadline reports that Zano will portray Dr. Nate Heywood, a historian whose grandfather was Commander Steel, a member of the Justice Society of America.
Zano’s addition to the cast is just the latest in a number of cast changes for CW’s sophomore superhero series.
Last month, Legends co-creator Marc Guggenheim told Deadline that “the composition of the team is going to change” as Ciara Renée exited the show and season one cast member Wentworth Miller’s status changed from a series regular to a reoccurring role on both Legends and The Flash.
“We always wanted Legends to be distinct season to season, not only in terms of the composition of the team but also in terms of mission statements. The season finale planted some very significant flags in terms of what the new concept of the show will be in season 2,” Guggenheim said. “The team’s mission statement for season 2 is more compelling than season 1, and at the same time, it is more streamlined. It’s a little bit higher concept, a very clean notion that will allow the show to do things that it does best.”
DC’s Legends of Tomorrow returns for a second season this fall on The CW.
