UPDATE 6/10/16: It’s official! Nashville has been renewed for season 5 by CMT, Variety reports. No word yet on when the series will return, but new episodes will reportedly be available to stream on Hulu the day after they air. You can read our original post about the deal below:

Good news, Nashies! It looks like there’s hope for more Nashville after all!

According to Variety, CMT is currently looking into picking up the hit country drama for a season 5.

News that CMT is circling the former ABC series comes hot on the heels of Lionsgate revealing that quite a few networks were interested in another season of Nashville. Among those interested were ABC Studios and Opry Entertainment. Given CMT’s demographic and current programming however, it sounds as though the network would be the perfect home for the series if the deal goes through.

Though the deal isn’t official yet, we’re sure fans of Nashville are breathing easy knowing there’s a good chance the series will continue. The series’ finale left viewers with a slew of questions, the most important of which seems to concern the fate of Juliette. Nashville’s final episode of season four ended on a huge cliffhanger with Ju’s plane going missing on her way home from the Oscars. It’s safe to say that fans were pretty distressed about the show ending on such a big cliffhanger.

We’re happy to hear it’s only a matter of time before the series gets renewed on another network— we’re definitely looking forward to getting those answers showrunner Callie Khouri promised!
